Yoichiro Tanaka,
Director, Hard Disk Drive Product Planning, Toshiba Storage Device Division
Yoichiro Tanaka joined Toshiba in 1983 and currently serves as director of hard disk drive product planning for Toshiba Storage Device Division in Japan.
Mr. Tanaka has held various positions with Toshiba and worked on projects including perpendicular floppy disks and high-density magnetic recording research for hard disk drives. His research interest focuses on granular recording media, perpendicular magnetic recording media, GMR heads, media noise analysis, high-density recording physics and perpendicular magnetic recording drive integration. In addition to his contributions to Toshiba’s research efforts, Mr.Tanaka spent two years as a visiting scientist at the Center for Micromagnetics and Information Technologies at the University of Minnesota.
Mr. Tanaka earned a bachelor of science and master of science in electrical communication engineering from Tohoku University.
