Weikang Shen received his B. S. degree in 1998 and M. S. degree in 2001 both from University of Science and Technology of China in physics. He is currently a Ph. D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Minnesota, working on advanced perpendicular magnetic recording media and recording physics.
